The Sustainable Aviation Fuels Forum took place in Madrid on 20th – 22 nd October 2014 and was attended by more than 100 experts. SAFF presentations are now online, along with Speaker CVs and images from the event.

SAFF is framed in the dissemination activities of the three main European projects related to biofuels and sustainability in aviation: Core Jet-Fuel, Forum-AE and ITAKA. Representatives from The European Commission, International Civil Aviation Organization, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the Airports Council International (ACI) attended the event, which also counted with the presence of relevant worldwide experts and stakeholders of the aviation sector. In addition, the main international initiatives regarding aviation biofuels (, aireg, ISAFF, NISA, NARA, CAAFI…) were also represented in the event.

The Forum addressed the key aspects for the implementation of alternative fuels for aviation: policies and incentives in Europe and worldwide, sustainability, reduction of emissions and the latest processing technologies. The most significant progresses and results to date were also discussed during these days.

The main objective of the meeting was to help designing suitable strategies to reduce GHG emissions, improve airport air quality and integrate the use of renewable energy in the transport system through the use of sustainable alternative fuels.

SAFF contributed to emphasize the cooperation between experts and relevant players in the field of sustainable alternative fuels for aviation, implementing long-lasting, fruitful synergies and a vivid exchange of knowledge between the participants.
